James Kelty is a novelist, former film producer, journalist, and traveler whose work explores people living at the margins of ordinary life.

 His fiction is rooted in the landscapes of California’s Central Coast and in a lifelong fascination with overlooked voices, unfinished journeys, and the choices that shape a life.
